IUNI3008 T. Iunius (32) L. f.

Career

  • Tribunus Plebis before 90 (Broughton MRR II Appendix 2) Expand
    • A tribunicius who secured the conviction of P. Sextius, Pr. Desig., for ambitus (Cic. Brut. 180). Before the period of Sulla. (Broughton MRR II Appendix 2)
    • Tr. pl. before 90? See MRR 2.490. Against Gruen's suggestion (RPCC 300) that his cognomen was Brutus, Sumner remarks that Cicero does not include the nomen when referring to a Brutus, a Silanus, or a Pennus. Rejecting identification of the P. Sextius whose condemnation Iunius secured (Brut. 180) with the quaestor of 111 (MRR 1.541), he dates this tribunate independently of the trial between ca. 95 and ca. 85 (Orators 109).[111] (Broughton MRR III)
